Course Description

Flowers have their own natural beauty that can be manipulated to characterize an expression. The course is an overview of the floral industry including farming, flower and plant care, business applications, and art principles. Students will develop artistic skills using the elements of design relating to floral design that tests their senses to perceive works of art. Students will identify visual structures and functions of art using the language of visual arts by creating original artworks based on personal experiences. Students will derive meaning from artworks through analysis, interpretation, and judgment. Students will connect and apply what is learned in Floriculture to learning in other art forms, subjects, and educational experiences. Interpersonal and employability skills will be taught through the FFA and Supervised Experience Projects.
